In the tradition of quilting, the one patch patterned scrap quilt is one of the most basic designs. Same sized squares of scrap fabric are arranged in rows, attention being paid to color and shading, to create a unique personal statement. My quilts grow from this tradition. I create the basic 13" x 13" squares utilizing hand-woven copper, personal artifacts, and materials recycled from my studio. These squares are the building blocks of my quilts and they can be placed on walls, ceilings, table tops, or as free standing sculptures.
