Part of Baltimore Walks, a 52-piece series of wall sculptures

Federal Hill West is one of 52 sculptures based on walks in 2001 and 2002 in and around Baltimore, my hometown. As I walked I would take photos, pick up interesting street flotsam, make sketches and use them as inspiration to create my sculptures. The idea was to create sculptures from a year or 52 weeks of walks. Federal Hill West is based on a walk started on Federal Hill, in south Baltimore and proceeded west into the older residential and industrial areas of Baltimore.
